Decades-old electronics require specialized care. Capacitors leak, lasers burn out, and physical media drives wear down over time. At Pixel Vault, we handle the delicate and highly specific work required to keep vintage hardware running properly.
We do not just patch temporary problems; we restore performance. From recapping aging motherboards to replacing brittle mechanical gears in disc drives, our workbench is equipped to diagnose and resolve faults at the component level.
Every repair begins with a thorough diagnosis. Below is an overview of the systems we service and standard starting rates for common procedures.

Wrap your console in bubble wrap and use a sturdy cardboard box. Do not include loose power supplies or controllers unless they are part of the issue you are experiencing.
Write a brief note describing the symptoms. Provide your contact email and phone number inside the box so we can reach you once the package arrives.
Ship to our workshop. Once received, we will run a full diagnostic test and contact you with a firm repair quote before any permanent work begins.
Most standard repairs are completed within 7 to 14 business days. Specialized modifications or repairs requiring imported replacement parts may extend the timeline. We will keep you updated via email.
Whenever possible, we source original manufacturer parts from donor systems. For components that naturally degrade over time (like capacitors and drive belts), we use modern, high-quality aftermarket replacements to ensure longevity.
If a motherboard is catastrophically damaged and beyond reasonable repair, we will only charge a nominal diagnostic fee. We can return the system to you or safely recycle it upon request.
